Early Signs & Symptoms of Breast Cancer
1. A Lump or Thickening in the Breast or Underarm

The most common early sign

May feel hard, irregular, or different from the rest of the breast tissue
2. Changes in Breast Size or Shape

Noticeable swelling or shrinking of one breast

Changes in contour or sudden asymmetry
3. Changes in the Skin

Skin may look:

Dimpled or puckered (like an orange peel – peau d’orange)

Red, inflamed, or thickened

Warm to the touch

4. Nipple Changes

Nipple turning inward (nipple retraction)

Pain or itching in the nipple area

Changes in appearance or shape
5. Nipple Discharge (Not Breast Milk)

Clear, bloody, or unusual discharge

Especially if it comes from only one nipple
6. Unexplained Pain

Persistent breast or nipple pain that does not go away
7. Swelling in Part or All of the Breast

Even without a distinct lump

Can be subtle
8. Swelling of the Lymph Nodes

Underarm or near collarbone

May indicate the cancer has spread even before a breast lump is felt
